I downloaded it off steam and i was trying it out on my desktop at home to get a feel for it but now i want to put my save game on a flash drive so i can use it on my laptop when i travel.

I cant find the savegame folder all my google searches tell me the file is located in. All of the files are stored on steam and swve saves are automatically downloaded from the servers when you download the game on another computer. If you ever have a doubt though, just think about where you last played and be doubly sure of whether loccation successfully stored it on the cloud. If the upload completes after your session is over, it's up. You might even consider going back into the game and double checking.

If you get a notification of whether you should download off the cloud, don't accept it because your save is most up to date. If you get to your borderlnads computer and it says that, then you probably should. unless your upload locatoon work last time, which would mean you lose whatever you did in that last session. Well right now I have 2, the one that's already there will be your save data from the pirated copy, and thats why you have to start a new game in the steam version so that it will create another folder which will be a DIFFERENT string of numbers in the same directory.

after playing for hours and switching between different ones.This is the problem. I like to try all the classes, so I started them all. Only to find that when I go back, sometimes one or more of the characters are completely missing, and replaced with an older version and duplicate of another class.Here's the important part to know:I found out that when the game is saved, it saves it as Save001.sav and if more than one char, it will save the next one as Save002.sav, and so on.

The trouble is, at least on my computer, it always saves the current game as save001.sav and if I switch to another char/class and play that one, it will save it as save001.sav OVERWRITING that last prior character I played. Wiping it out completely.Trying to rename the char's save files has sort-of worked, but it's a nightmare when I spend hours playing, and forget to back up the saves to another folder BEFORE I switch to another char. and find out the next day or later, that the second to last char I played and leveled up 5 levels is completely gone. Depending on if its a steam copy borderlanvs not, its usually in MyDocumentsMyGamesBorderlands.
